At i.Scaff, we have been erecting, altering and dismantling independent scaffold lifts for our customers throughout Oxfordshire and UK for many years. Our fully trained team of professional scaffolders have both the knowledge and experience in all areas of the scaffolding trade, making us a safe choice when it comes down to independent scaffold lifts to both domestic and commercial projects.
An independent tied scaffold consists of two rows of standards which are both situated parallel to the building. The inner row is set as close to the building as possible, leaving enough room for a minimum of one inside board, but could require more than one, dependent upon on the needs and inside standards of that particular building. The distance between the inside standards and the outside standards will then be determined by how many boards are required.
Each row is joined together with ledgers, which support the transverse transoms. The independent scaffold is erected independently from the building, however, is attached to it at suitable intervals. A base plate is also provided for each row of standards.
Braces are fixed diagonally to the ledgers or standards. Sway bracing or longitudinal bracing is fixed to the standards across the face of the scaffold.
The spacing of the standards to form the bay length depends on the height and loading of the scaffold. The spacing of the ledgers or the lift height is normally 2 metres, but, in certain circumstances, lifts may be greater, provided the standards are capable of supporting the load.
Our team offer extensive information and advice on your individual scaffolding needs, allowing you to gain an understanding of the scaffolding that is required, specifically suited to your building.
